Prepare an Abu Dhabi Power of Attorney with clear powers, accurate identity details and the right notarisation route for its intended use.
Define the authority you want to give
A Power of Attorney (POA) authorises another person to act on your behalf within the powers stated in the document. The person granting authority is the principal; the appointed representative is the attorney.
Start with the transaction you want completed. A generic template can omit necessary authority or grant powers you did not intend.
Choose powers that fit the transaction
Describe the acts the representative should perform and any intended limits. Consider whether the document concerns personal affairs, a company, a vehicle, property or another specific matter.
For significant financial or property powers, obtain legal advice on the wording and risks. A POA should not be broader merely for convenience.

Prepare identity and supporting records
The checklist varies by transaction. Collect accurate identity details for the parties and the supporting records relating to the authority, such as company or ownership documents where relevant.
Compare names, numbers and asset references with the originals. Ask the receiving organisation whether it has specific wording requirements before finalising the draft.
Confirm the language and notarisation route

If the transaction will take place outside the UAE, ask the receiving organisation what further attestation or translation is required.
