Understand the difference between company formation and residence status when exploring a UAE business while visiting the country.
Company ownership and immigration status are separate
Being on a visit visa does not, by itself, answer whether a particular company can be established in your circumstances. The formation route depends on the licensing authority, activity, legal structure and applicant.
Obtain confirmation for your proposed route before paying for a licence. Do not assume that company registration automatically changes your immigration status.
What to confirm with the licensing authority
Describe the business and explain your current status so the requirements can be checked for your situation.

- Office and owner-residence plans
Plan the residence stage separately
If you intend to obtain investor or partner residence, request a separate explanation of that route. Company records, establishment procedures and immigration documents may be required.
Ask which steps can be completed in your circumstances and whether any status change is available. Eligibility for residence remains an immigration decision.
Keep track of your permitted stay
A pending company application should not be treated as an extension of a visit visa. Check your current immigration record and arrange any necessary extension or departure through the competent authority.
Before personally carrying out work, confirm the immigration and work authorisations required. Ownership documentation and permission to work are distinct matters.
