Follow a practical preparation sequence for an Abu Dhabi civil will, from recording instructions to completing registration and keeping the final document.
1. Confirm eligibility and the registration route
Before drafting, check the applicable will service and its requirements with ADJD. The appropriate route depends on the person's circumstances.
If you already have a will in another country, tell the adviser before preparing a new one. Wording that unintentionally affects another document can create complications.
2. Record assets and intended beneficiaries
Prepare a working list of your instructions. Use accurate identity details and distinguish personal assets from jointly owned or company-held assets.

5. Complete registration formalities
Follow the identity and signing instructions for the appointment arranged by the authority. Do not treat uploading a draft as proof that registration is complete.

6. Keep and review the registered will
